With the concerted efforts of the Government, industry and academia, Hong Kong has been making good progress in innovation, technology and design in recent years. The sustainability of these developments depends on the availability of an appropriate culture and enough young talents. As such, ITC launches a wide variety of publicity and promotional initiatives to promote awareness and cultivate interest of the general public in these areas and to nurture more young and creative talents.

Innovation Festival, an annual event since 2005, is one of the major initiatives of the Commission in the promotion of an innovation, technology and design culture.

Innovation Festival 08 (IF 08), with a theme 'InnoVision Innovation InnoFuture' , will be launched in end September. Like previous years, it aims to provide an opportunity for the community, in particular the younger generation, to experience for themselves the achievements of Hong Kong in innovation, technology and design, and to appreciate the importance of these achievements to the development of Hong Kong in the future. The Festival also targets to enhance the youngsters' interest in innovation, technology and design, with a view to nurturing more talents, which in turn will help develop Hong Kong into a regional hub for innovation and technology.
