HOKLAS has concluded mutual recognition agreements/arrangements (MRA) with accreditation bodies listed below by HKAS having bilateral agreements with other accreditation bodies or by being one of the signatories of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and Asian Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Co-operation (APLAC) Multilateral Mutual Recognition Arrangement. Since ILAC has signed mutual recognition arrangement with the Inter American Accreditation Cooperation (IAAC) and APLAC has signed bilateral agreements with the European Co-operation for Accreditation (EA) multilateral agreement group, signatories of EA and signatories of IAAC will also become MRA partners of HOKLAS. Mutual Recognition Agreements/Arrangements
Every effort is made to promote acceptance of test data from accredited laboratories, both internationally and locally. HOKLAS has signed the following types of mutual recognition agreements/arrangements:
- Bilateral agreements with six overseas laboratory accreditation schemes;
- Bilateral agreement with the European Co-operation for Accreditation (EA) multilateral agreement group;
- Multilateral mutual recognition arrangement with Asian Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Co-operation (APLAC) ; and
- Multilateral mutual recognition arrangement with International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC).
HOKLAS MRA partners will recognise HOKLAS endorsed test certificates as having the same technical validity as certificates endorsed by their respective schemes.
