Part-time Administrative Assistant (Non-civil Service Contract)
Entry Requirements:
Candidates should have –
- a bachelor degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent [see Note (1) and (2)];
- good oral and written communication skills in Cantonese and English, with Level 3 or above in both Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [see Note (2) and (3)];
- at least four years’ full-time post-qualification administrative experience in office /human resources/ funding schemes management. Experience in Government, universities or public bodies is preferred [see Note (4)];
- good command of computer skills in the application of MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- good command in both written and spoken Chinese and English, including Putonghua; and
- sound analytical, organization and communication skills.
Notes:
- Candidates should mark clearly on their application forms the major and minor subjects studied in their degree courses. Candidates possessing additional qualifications (e.g. a higher degree in a relevant subject) should include details in their applications.

Duties:
An Administrative Assistant is mainly deployed on:
- assisting in the discharge of the full range of Human Resource Management functions including personnel, recruitment, promotion, performance management, training and development, etc;
- providing secretariat support for various funding schemes under Innovation and Technology Fund;
- performing office administration work including management of records, filing systems and databases, compiling statistics and different reports, and handling enquiries/complaint matters; and
- performing any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms on part-time basis for normally one year. Renewal of contract will be subject to the service need and the performance of the candidate.
Remuneration:
Salary: $305 per hour. A part-time Administrative Assistant would be required to work on irregular days having regard to the operational needs.

Biotechnology Director
Salary:
HK$194,825 – HK$212,900 per month
Entry Requirements:
Candidates are required to have:
- a PhD Degree in the field of life science or biotechnology;
- a minimum of 10 years’ relevant post-qualification experience at a senior management level in a scientific or corporate setting;
- strong research or technical background in biotechnology and related areas (preferably enjoy recognised international standing in his/her own specialist field);
- good scientific and/or business networks; competency in research and development and/or business and product development; and understanding of current trends in technology and market (familiarity with the development and commercial application of biotechnology in the Mainland will be an advantage); and
- strong command of both written and spoken English, as well as proficiency in written Chinese and spoken Cantonese and Putonghua.
Duties:
Biotechnology Director is a non-civil service position responsible for providing expert technology-related advice in biotechnology and related fields to the Commissioner for Innovation and Technology. He/She is required to lead a team of professional staff to provide assistance to the Innovation and Technology Commission (the Commission) in developing solicitation themes, undertaking project assessment, monitoring progress and evaluating the programmes in related fields under the Innovation and Technology Fund and other funding schemes administered by the Commission. He/She is also expected to maintain contacts with academia, research institutes, industries and other relevant bodies, liaising and supporting the activities of other government departments/organizations in the biotechnology field, and undertaking ad hoc activities related to the Commission’s operation and strategic development in this aspect.
Terms of Appointment:
The successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service agreement terms normally from two to three years at the discretion of the Government.
Fringe Benefits:
- The appointee will be subject to the provision of the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Schemes Ordinance and will be required to make an employee’s contribution to an MPF Scheme. An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum, which, when added together with the Government’s contribution to the MPF scheme, equals 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period; and
- The appointee will be entitled to vacation leave with leave passage allowance, housing benefits in the form of non-accountable cash allowance and other benefits subject to the meeting of the eligibility criteria as stipulated in the regulations relating to the provision of such benefits.
