Multilateral/Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRA)

Every effort is made to promote acceptance of conformity assessment results from accredited conformity assessment bodies, both internationally and locally. HKAS has concluded multilateral/mutual recognition arrangements with other accreditation bodies by being one of the signatories of the Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (Global ACI MRA) ^{Note 1} and the Asia Pacific Accreditation Cooperation Mutual Recognition Arrangement (APAC MRA) for the following conformity assessment activities:

Activities under HOKLAS: Testing, calibration, medical testing, Proficiency Testing Provision (PTP) and Reference Material Production (RMP).

Activities under HKCAS: Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), Food Safety Management System (FSMS), Energy Management System (EnMS), Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OH&SMS) certifications, product certification, validation and verification of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) information at organization level.

HKAS MRA partners will recognise HKAS endorsed reports, certificates and statements as having the same technical validity as endorsed reports, certificates and statements of their own.

Notes:

1. Global ACI has commenced full operations as of 1 January 2026, assuming the roles and responsibilities of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF). The Global ACI MRA covers the scopes of HKAS previously recognised under the ILAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement and the IAF Multilateral Recognition Arrangement.
