Five local R&D centres shine at SmartBiz Expo
To help five research and development (R&D) centres of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government promote their projects and explore business opportunities, an "Innovation and Technology Commission Pavilion" was set up by Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC) at the first SmartBiz Expo held from December 6 to 8 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This ITC Pavilion marked the finale of "InnoTech Month 2017" starting from September 30.

The five local R&D centres, namely Automotive Parts and Accessory Systems R&D Centre (APAS), Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI), The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA), Hong Kong R&D Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management Enabling Technologies (LSCM) and Nano and Advanced Materials Institute (NAMI), showcased their latest R&D projects and inventions at the ITC Pavilion during the 3-day Expo.

With the theme of "Innovate for Smart Business", the SmartBiz Expo consisted of six zones, including "Techtopia", "Envision Lot", "The Hatchery", "The Muses", "The Boosters" and "The Pathfinder", gathering more than 500 exhibitors from 43 countries and regions, and serving as a one-stop platform to showcase the latest business solutions, technology applications and operations support.
