The 50th Joint School Science Exhibition Accelerates I&T Development and Benefits Local Community
The 50th Joint School Science Exhibition (JSSE) will be held at Hong Kong Central Library Exhibition Gallery from August 23 to 28. Organised by the 50th Joint School Science Exhibition Preparation Committee (JSSEPC) and sponsored by the Innovation and Technology Commission, JSSE aims to nurture local science talents, arouse public interest in science and foster the exchange of knowledge. Coming to the year of Golden Jubilee, the annual event continues to carry its mission of creating a platform for science-loving students from all over Hong Kong to showcase their talents in this field.

Bearing the theme "Community" this year, the JSSEPC hopes that students could utilise their creativity and scientific knowledge in inventing models that benefit the whole community, especially for facets of safety and comfort. The Project Holders' Seminar and Proposal Competition was held in December 2016, in which students were encouraged to submit proposals with originality and relevance to the theme. Selected teams will have the opportunity to display and demonstrate their models to the public in the 50th JSSE.

The JSSE consists of a wide variety of elements. In addition to the 23 teams of participating schools, four overseas delegates and three local university delegates are also invited to the Exhibition. The JSSEPC will host a Science Theatre and various workshops so as to introduce the fun of science to the public. All visitors are welcome to vote for their favourite booth and purchase student-design souvenirs.

JSSEPC is going to hold Float Tours on July 30, August 2 and 6 at Olympian City, Fortune REIT and Citywalk respectively where the public can go to catch a glimpse of the JSSEPC and enjoy mini science games.
