HKPC Organises “HK Secondary Schools 3D Printing Design Competition” for Promoting Creativity
The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) launched the "Hong Kong Secondary Schools 3D Printing Design Competition", aiming to promote the innovative use of 3D printing and encourage creative enterprise among the younger generation, whilst commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

The Competition has attracted 236 entries from 123 schools in total. By using computer-aided design (CAD) software and advanced 3D printing technologies, participating school teams redesigned and fabricated models of 20 landmark buildings on both sides of the Victoria Harbour.

The 20 winning building designs, together with 1,194 pieces of 3D-printed objects, formed a mega Victoria Harbour model with an area exceeding 35 square metres, setting a Guinness World Record for the largest number of 3D-printed sculptures in a single display was set with. This record was thanks to a team consisting of over 600 representatives from a select 119 semi-finalist teams, along with HKPC 3D-printing experts, and Mr. Sidney Tang, local architect and chief advisor of the competition. This model will be on public display after the award presentation ceremony held on July 16.
