Innovation and Technology Scholarship Scheme Driving Student Aspirations
Many students dream of a chance to pursue overseas study, mentored by some industry leaders and gain hands-on experience at reputable companies. The Innovation and Technology Scholarship Scheme has been helping talented students achieve these aspirations.

Jacky Goh Zhen-hao was one of the winners of The InnoTech Scholarship Scheme in 2014. Jacky was originally a student studying Food Safety and Technology at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He discovered a new route in life in the area of Pharmacy with the help of the scheme. Jacky gained an internship experience from the Materials and Manufacturing Technology Division of the Hong Kong Productivity Council, and spent two months studying Organic Chemistry at Stanford University in the United Sates. One of his professors there, Dr. Stephen Kahl, an experienced professional in the pharmaceutical chemistry field, helped cultivate Jacky’s interest in pharmacy.

Also being an awardee of the scheme in 2014, Zoe Lee Hei-yan gained a rather different experience. Zoe undertook a two-month internship at the Development Bureau through the support of the InnoTech Scholarship Scheme, where she pursued her passion in engineering through participating in large-scale projects, such as the Kai Tak Development. In 2015, Zoe attended an exchange programme for a semester at the University of California, Berkeley. During that period, her mentor, Mr. Nicholas Brooke, chairman of Professional Property Services Limited encouraged her to apply for a one-year placement at renowned engineering consulting firm and she finally got the offer. Upon graduation, Zoe plans to start her career in the same company, working on sustainable buildings and renewable energy designs.

Please see here for more information about experience sharing of awardees. More details about Innovation and Technology Scholarship Scheme, please visit: http://innotechscholarship.hkfyg.org.hk/?locale=en-US
