Applications Now Open For Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition 2018
Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition (HKSSPC) 2018 is now open for application. The briefing session was held at Hong Kong Science Museum on October 19 and the deadline for project nomination will be November 14. Carrying the theme "From Theory to Practice • Develop Science Potential", HKSSPC 2018 is divided into Junior Division, Senior Division and Scientific Wallchart Division. For Junior and Senior Divisions, students are expected to demonstrate their understanding of science and scientific knowledge through their investigation or invention. These projects should be original and innovative while also being practical and applicable in real life. For Scientific Wallchart Division, students are expected to search for information and apply their scientific knowledge to study a science topic, as well as produce a poster that explains the science topic about "Energy, Engineering and Environment".

On the initial judging day, three teams from the Senior Division will be selected to participate in the I-SWEEEP 2018 competition which will be held in the United States in early May 2018. Teams must choose to compete for the "Energy, Engineering and Environment Award" during enrolment. Champions, 1st runner-ups and 2nd runner-ups of the Junior and Senior Divisions will be sponsored to participate in a Science and Technology Exchange Programme and may be selected to participate in the InnoTech Month 2018.

To encourage students to develop projects benefiting to people with special needs, a "Society Care Award" will be given to two outstanding teams, one each from the Junior and Senior Divisions, which can provide relevant and feasible solutions.
