Corporate academy consultancy services for talent development
To support Hong Kong's continuous development as a knowledge-based economy and smart city, attracting and developing the right talent have become critical for companies capitalising the advantages of capturing the opportunities arising from the Belt and Road initiative, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area development and re-industrialisation. In view of this, the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) has upgraded its "Productivity Training Institute" to become the "HKPC Academy", offering the city's only corporate academy consultancy services for businesses to set up their own academies and foster systematic and sustainable talent development in order to address new challenges brought by technology and market development. HKPC Academy aims to strengthen training support for business and manufacturing industries to get ready for re-industrialisation, and equip professionals with the latest knowledge and skills in their industry through technology and skills transfer.

The launching ceremony was held on January 23 at HKPC. Mr Joshua Law, Secretary for the Civil Service, was the guest of honour, accompanied by Mr Patrick Wong, Deputy Chairman of HKPC, Mr Cheuk Wing-hing, Permanent Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Ms Annie Choi, Commissioner for Innovation and Technology, and Mr Mohamed D. Butt, Executive Director of HKPC.

Through the Academy's upgraded capacity, HKPC targets to help companies elevate their HR training activities to corporate academy level and provide a continuous learning and clear career development pathway for the staff with accreditation from the qualifications framework. HKPC will also enable the extension of the corporate academy culture to local public organisations and businesses, building a firm foundation for the local talent pool to embrace new development opportunities for Hong Kong.
