Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition 2018: Sharing Sessions with Advisors
The annual Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition (HKSSPC) is now in its 20th consecutive year. This year, international division is newly created to foster the scientific knowledge exchange among local and overseas students. With the objective of giving participants constructive advices on their projects, Sharing Sessions with Advisors were held on January 25 at the Hong Kong Science Museum.

During the sharing sessions, advisors from local universities shared their insights into scientific research. Participants were provided with valuable advices to solve the problems they encountered during the preparation of projects and were guided to face their challenges through group discussion.

The Initial Judging cum Project Exhibition will be held on March 10, 2018 in the Hong Kong Science Park. Under the theme of "From Theory to Practice • Develop Science Potential", students are expected to demonstrate their understanding of science and scientific knowledge through their investigations or inventions. About 20 overseas teams from the international division will also participate in the Competition on this day.

The HKSSPC is jointly organised by The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, the Education Bureau and the Hong Kong Science Museum, and supported by the Innovation and Technology Commission and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. Widely supported by the academic and business community, this Competition has been one of the core government-supported programmes for fostering a culture of innovation and technology in Hong Kong since 1998.

The HKSSPC aims at promoting the interest of our youth in science and technology, developing their creativity and scientific mindset through better understanding and innovative application of science and technology, and inspiring their intellectual interest and career aspirations in science and technology.
